Floyd returned from Europe to Brooks AFB, Texas where he served as the Legal Advisor to the Air Force Drug Testing Laboratory. During this assignment, he served as lead defense counsel on numerous complex and high profile cases and supervised eight Area Defense Counsel throughout Europe. He was then selected to be an Area Defense Counsel in the Pacific Circuit at Osan Air Base, Republic of Korea.Īfter excelling as the base defense counsel at Osan, he was selected to serve as a Circuit Defense Counsel and later as the Deputy Chief Circuit Defense Counsel in the European Circuit. He began his courtroom career as a successful prosecutor at Ellsworth AFB, South Dakota. Floyd has extensive criminal litigation experience as both a prosecutor and defense counsel in the U.S. He was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant and attended law school on an educational delay at the University of South Dakota from 1988 to 1991. In 1988, he graduated from South Dakota State University as a Distinguished Graduate of Air Force ROTC. Floyd attended three years of high school at Zweibrucken AB, Germany and then graduated from Douglas High School near Ellsworth AFB, South Dakota. His grandfather is also a retired Chief Master Sergeant and is a former WW II prisoner of war after being shot down in a B-17 bomber near Magdeberg, Germany. His step-mother retired as a Chief Master Sergeant after almost 30 years of active service. His father retired as a Master Sergeant after over 22 years of active service.
